Pastor Jen Andreas was called to serve the Lord of Life congregation and led her first worship service as our new pastor on October 4. Pastor Jen formerly served a congregation in the Cedar Rapids area.

Pastor Jen Andreas began to share ministry with Lord of Life Lutheran Church in October of 2009.  She previously served St. John Lutheran Church in Olin, Iowa; Redeemer Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake, Minnesota; Trinity Lutheran Parish in Glenburn and Goodrich-Hurdsfield Lutheran Parish, both in North Dakota. 

Pastor Jen’s husband, John Albertson,  is a pastor in Marion, Iowa, and her son, Leif Albertson is a 7th grader.

Pastor Jen grew up in Montevideo, Minnesota where she graduated from high school in 1983. She graduated from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa in 1987 with majors in psychology and religion, and a minor in Greek. While there, she played clarinet in the Luther College Concert Band. While attending Wartburg Theological seminary she spent one month doing ministry in Appalachia, spent one summer doing Clinical Pastoral Education at the state hospital in Jamestown, North Dakota and did her 12-month internship in Brenham, Texas. Pastor Jen graduated from Wartburg Seminary in 1991 with a Masters of Divinity.

Pastor Jen is passionate about liberating people from poverty and homelessness and works to build a place in the worshiping community where all are welcome, regardless of marital status, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or ability. She loves to read both theology and murder mysteries, go to movies with her son, and listen to rock and roll.
