Pastor Sarah Larsen

Pastor Sarah is a native of Minnesota and a 1992 graduate of The Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. She has served a number of different congregations in Iowa, Missouri and Illinois before being called to Lord of Life Lutheran in Ames.

She is the mother of three children (Elizabeth, Peter and Timmy) as well as the primary caretaker of three cats, a dog, and two hermit crabs. 

Besides being pastor at Lord of Life, Sarah serves on a number of community boards, volunteers at her children’s schools, and is a Girl Scout leader.

In her “free time,” Sarah loves to read and sew, and she is learning to knit.

“Lord of Life is an amazing, energetic congregation. This community is always willing to try new things, learn new music, laugh together, cry together, care for one another and reach out to the world around them. After four years, I am still excited about what each new day will bring.”
